ADOX XT-3 is a well-balanced, ascorbic acid B&W film developer that yields full film speed with high sharpness and very fine grain. Compared to other similar developers such as XTOL, Excel, or LegacyPro Eco, ADOX XT-3 features better keeping properties, and is also free of hydroquinone or boric acid. ADOX CAPTURA dust binding technology vastly reduces the amount of chemical dust in the air when mixing this powdered chemistry and reduces dissolving time to 2-3 minutes, making it among the safest to use indoors.
The developing times and resulting curves are identical to those of XTOL produced prior to 2019 and sold in aluminum compound bags. As with all Isoascorbat based developers, be aware of noticeable darkening of the solution or the formation of any precipitates. If any of the above occur, do not use the developer any longer.
