The film that made cinema history has returned to tell new stories. In black and white.

The Ferrania Story

Film Ferrania represents Italian excellence in the world of film. It all began decades ago when Ferrania emerged as one of the leading producers of photographic and cinematographic film. Ferrania's films became synonymous with quality and style, capturing the imagination of directors, photographers, and artists from around the world. From that moment on, the name "Ferrania" became a symbol of excellence in the analog film industry. Italian masters of the mid-20th century, such as Pier Paolo Pasolini, Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini, and Federico Fellini, created many of their most iconic films on P30 stock. Today, the Ferrania research and development team continuously works on the development of new films capable of capturing the imagination of artists, photographers, and filmmakers worldwide.

Film Ferrania is the unrivaled pioneer in introducing a completely new range of black and white films. The film is born with its own distinct character, which can be subtly manipulated during printing. Ferrania film is not a generic commodity that can be swapped with others. With its high silver content, the film possesses the incredible capability to capture an abundance of information, granting the opportunity, during development and printing, to reveal intricate details that would otherwise fade into obscurity—especially in the depths of shadows.

The P30 Story

Ferrania P30 embodies a timeless aesthetic reminiscent of the film stocks favored by renowned Italian filmmakers during the mid-20th century. With its abundant silver content, this film delivers strikingly high-contrast images accompanied by virtually imperceptible grain. Perfectly suited for outdoor environments bathed in natural light and indoor settings with supplementary lighting, P30's 80 ISO exposure index provides flexibility and versatility.

It comes as no surprise that legendary Italian directors like Pier Paolo Pasolini, Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini, and Federico Fellini chose P30 to create their most iconic films. The popularity of P30's look in cinema was so immense that in 1958, a special version was specifically developed for still photography.
